BUZZED ENTERTAINMENT

Fall 2021 Semester

Project Length - 4 weeks

Critic - Jerry Stivers, RA, LEED AP

The brewery represents a small entertainment space where visitors can go to enjoy their view, have a beer, and listen to a live show. A direct line of sight connects the brewery and fermenting spaces to the tap room and across the street the outdoor entertainment. Inside the tap room, visitors will have viewable access to the brewing factory, where they can witness the assembly of their favorite craft beer and can then enjoy said beer with a wonderful view. Visitors occupying the beer garden space above will share an identical sight, which grants them viewing access to the brewery and across the street to the outdoor entertainment space. It’s all connected!

GROUND FLOOR

The ground floor serves as the primary source of entertainment for the visitors of the brewery. Not only can they relax with a drink, they can shop at the music store as well. Visitors in the brewery have two avenues for relaxing entertainment. With openings on both the East and West, they can choose to observe their favorite craft beer be brewed, or watch any live entertainment happening across the street.

2ND FLOOR, W ELEVATION, SECTION

The 2nd floor serves as the housing development for the site. Each unit has a balcony, to allow tenants access to outside sitting. A u-shaped hall lets tenants navigate to their respective dwelling, while giving them the opportunity to see down into the functioning brewery below. The 2nd floor is also home to the beer garden, where visitors of the brewery can hold private events, attend wine tastings, or simply sit and relax while observing the live entertainment across the street.

N ELEVATION, SECTION

Alternative drawings showcasing the connection between the live action entertainment and the brewery activities.

ENLARGED ELEVATION

More detailed study of materials, light, shadows, and proportions, as well as overall building efficiency.
